Bhatkal: In a remarkable academic achievement, Shreyas R. Nayak, a postgraduate student from Anjuman Degree College and PG Centre in Bhatkal, secured first rank in Kannada (Postgraduate) at Karnataka University Dharwad and was awarded nine gold medals along with two cash prizes at the university’s 75th convocation ceremony.

The medals and certificates were presented by Thawar Chand Gehlot, the Governor of Karnataka who also serves as the Chancellor of the university.

The event was attended by Higher Education Minister Dr. M. C. Sudhakar and Vice-Chancellor Dr. A. M. Khan, among other dignitaries.

Shreyas received an array of prestigious honours, including memorial and institutional gold medals instituted in the names of eminent personalities and organisations. These include awards commemorating Mallappa Yallappa Kavali, Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamiji of Suttur Math, Dr. R.C. Hiremath, Prof. K.G. Kundangar, Vidya Vachaspati Dr. Panchakshari Hiremath, Dr. William Matta, Dr. Gurulinga Kapse, Sangayya Swami and Rachayya Swami, as well as the Mahanta Swami Gold Medal from Murugha Math. In addition, he received the Reverend Channappa Uttangi Birth Centenary Award and the Nadhoja Channaveera Kanavi and Shantadevi Kanavi Memorial Award.

Shreyas completed his entire education—from primary schooling to postgraduate studies—in Bhatkal. He is the son of Prof. R.S. Nayak, a retired lecturer at Anjuman, and Renuka. Known for his consistent academic excellence, he recently cleared competitive examinations conducted by three major nationalised banks and is currently serving as a Probationary Officer with Canara Bank in Perambalur district of Tamil Nadu.

Office-bearers and faculty members of the Anjuman Educational Institution have congratulated Shreyas on his outstanding accomplishment.
