Burglars decamp with gold worth ₹5.5 lakh from house in Bhatkal

Bhatkal: Unidentified burglars allegedly stole gold ornaments worth around ₹5.5 lakh and cash from a house in Bhatkal on Friday.

The incident was reported from Qidwai Road First Cross, where the accused are suspected to have entered the residence by breaking the glass pane of a rear window during the early hours of May 8.

According to a complaint filed by 49-year-old Nahid Akhtar at the Bhatkal Town Police Station, the burglars then opened a cupboard inside the house and fled with around 55 grams of gold ornaments and ₹10,000 in cash.

Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the burglary.
