Eid Milan Mushaira Held in Bhatkal by Karnataka Urdu Academy

Bhatkal: The Karnataka Urdu Academy organised a grand Eid Milan and National Integration Mushaira in Bhatkal, where invited guest poets and local poets captivated the audience with their eloquent poetry. On the occasion, students who secured 100 percent marks in Urdu in the SSLC examinations were felicitated with appreciation certificates and a cash award of ₹1,000 each.

The programme, convened by Dr. Anees Siddiqui and Shareef Ahmed Shareef, began with an inaugural session held under the chairmanship of the Chairman of the Karnataka Urdu Academy. Bhatkal Tahsildar Nagendra Kolshetty, who attended as the chief guest, formally inaugurated the event by watering a sapling.

PSI Naveen, along with prominent members of educational and social organisations, including Inayatullah Shabandari and Maulana Ilyas Jakti Nadvi, were present and briefly shared their views, appreciating the initiatives and contributions of the Karnataka Urdu Academy.

In his presidential address, Chairman of the Karnataka Urdu Academy, Maulana Mufti Mohammed Ali, highlighted the Academy’s efforts in promoting the Urdu language and fostering national integration and communal harmony. He also urged the Tahsildar to facilitate the allocation of suitable land by the government for the construction of an Urdu Bhavan in Bhatkal.

The second session featured the Mushaira, presided over by Maulana Mufti Mohammed Ali and conducted by noted poet Sardar Saleem (Hyderabad). Distinguished guest poets including Prof. Qadeer Nazim, Prof. Riyaz Mahmood, Dr. Dawood Mohsin, Dr. Natiq Ali Puri, Anwar Khan, Shaikh Habeeb, Ahmed Basha Sagar, Shareef Ahmed Shareef, Aslam Banarasi, Tanveer Ahmed Azeem, Sardar Saleem, Siraj Sholapuri and Rafiq Sarwar presented their poetry. Local poets Dr. Mohammed Hanif Shabab, Iqbal Saeedi, Ibn Hasan, Maulana Samaan Khalifa Nadvi and Suhail Arshi also impressed the audience with their performances.
