Bhatkal: A house in Kuntuvani village, within the jurisdiction of the rural police station in the taluk, was raided by the police following information about alleged prostitution activities. During the operation, a victimized woman was rescued, and a female suspect was apprehended.
The arrested individual has been identified as Radha Shetty (45), a resident of Kuntuvani. The police have reported that the victim, a 28-year-old woman from Bangalore, was safely rescued and subsequently transferred to the Karwar rescue center.
According to reports, Radha Shetty was reportedly involved in running a prostitution business as a means of livelihood, allegedly exploiting the aforementioned 28-year-old woman from Bangalore.
It has been alleged that Shetty would solicit customers through her mobile phone and, despite public complaints about her behavior, she managed to evade the police and escape. However, on Friday night, acting on reliable information, the police, led by Bhatkal DySP Srikant K, conducted a successful raid, resulting in the arrest of the suspect. During the operation, the police seized three mobile phones and a sum of cash.
