Udupi: Deputy Commissioner Kurma Rao said pending works on National Highway 66 and 169A in Udupi district should be completed at the earliest to ensure a hassle-free ride on the Highway.
“It is also the responsibility of highway officials to ensure that commuters travel safe on the highways and do not face inconveniences,” Rao said, while presiding over a review meeting of NH works in DC hall. Officials also should ensure that there were no potholes on the highway.
When informed that the highway widening work was stopped in Parkala, the DC directed officials to resume work.
He also directed officials to carry out repair works on the Indrali railway bridge road. Officials were also asked to fill up potholes on the stretch from Karavali Junction to Malpe.
NHAI officials should consult local residents before beginning work, he said and drew the attention of officials to rainwater stagnating at Kundapur’s Sangam Junction, pending asphaltisation works near a flyover in Kundapur, among others.
He assured NHAI officials that the district administration would provide full cooperation.
