Kumta: It is not correct to criticise the National Education Policy (NEP) without understanding it completely and one who has objections over the NEP, should read about the NEP and should come for discussion on it, suggested Primary & Secondary Education Minister B C Nagesh.

He was speaking after inaugurating the additional building of Hanumant Benne Nellikeri Government PU College in Kumta on Thursday.

He said, the NEP provides scope to the students for nurturing their talents. A Science student who has an interest in music, can learn it under NEP, added.

He said, it is noteworthy that the majority of achievers studied in the government school itself. The best teachers are in government schools which play a vital role in imparting education to the students, he praised.

He also appreciated Purnima Patagar, a student of Saraswati PU College, who secured 432nd rank in CET. The minister felicitated the student on the occasion.

DDPU Hanumantappa Nitturu, Principal Eshwar Naik, Harish Gaokar and other were present.
