Mangaluru: In connection to the assault on the youth on Tuesday at Kasaba Bengre, the police have arrested around 10 people and are interrogating them.

The clash had occurred late night on Tuesday when BJP activists were returning after participating in the Fishermen's Conference at Malpe which was addressed by BJP chief Amith Shah.

According to sources, an argument had taken place between the activists and a group regarding sloganeering by the occupants of the bus. However, the matter was resolved in the bus itself.

But later, three youth were allegedly assaulted by knives and sharp weapons by an unidentified group of around 30 people, at Thota Bengre. All three were admitted to a local hospital.
