People of all faiths come together to condemn communalism and support social harmony in Bhatkal

Bhatkal: A communal harmony and multilingual Kavi Milan program under the aegis of Bhatkalnews's 'Peace Misson' was held here at the Public Chabutra, Bhatkal on 26th January, Friday evening. The event was attend by leaders of various organizations and people from different communities took part, sharing the message of peace and harmony.

Addressing the gathering, chief guest Mr. Ibrahim Nafees, editor of 'Onjee Awaaz', lauded Bhatkal town for protecting its culture and tradition. He said that the region has set the finest example in maintaining peace and harmony between all communities. "Contributions from all the communities in various fields for the development of country is the mark of our India", he added.

Maulana Abdul Aleem Nadvi, the Imam Bhatkal Jamia Masjid expressed his thoughts and explained that Islam is has come to spread peace and harmony and message of humanity across the globe. He further said that India is like one home. Like a family, if people from all communities stay together, ignoring minor disputes like a family does, then our nation would become the finest example in the globe.

Cheif Qazi of Markazi Khaleefa Jamaat Ul Muslimeen, Maulana Khwaja Mohiddin Akrami Nadwi Madani also spoke on the occassion and expressed his pride on the fact that India is the only country in the world which has rooted in it so many religions, different languages and cultures. Here, a Hindu, Muslim, and Christian are neighbors to one another and are dutiful towards each other. He said that peace loving people should not allow anti-social groups to create communal tensions. He also said that authorities should take take strong action against such groups.  

Tahsildar Mr.V.N  Bhaadkar also addressed the audience and thanked the organizers for organizing the beautiful program on communal harmony. He spoke the about Hindu-Muslim unity which he has een and experienced since decades in his career as a government official. He asked the people not to get carried away by anti-social groups who want break India's unity. 

On the occasion, school students sang harmony anthem beautifully winning the hearts of listeners. Earlier, the program began with the recitation of verses from Holy Quran while the editor of Bhatkalnews Mr. Ateequr Rahman Shabandari welcomed and introduced the guests. Moulana Abdul Noor Fakardey Nadwi explained the importance of organizing the program. The program was managed by Mr. Ismail Chadubapa Shabandari and Maulana Ilyas Jakti Nadvi presided over the event.

The programme was followed by a special session of multilingual Kavi Milan in which  poets read out  their poetry in Urdu, English, Kannada, Konkani and Nawayathi. The poets who performed Urdu poetry were Affan Bafaqui and Ilyas Sunehri. In Kannada, poets were performed by Suresh Murdeshwar and Shridar Shet, while Haneef Shabnam and Samiullah Barmawar read out English and Nawayathi poems respectively.

On this occasion, president of Jamaat Ul Muslimeen Bhatkal, Mr. Muhammad Shafi Shabandari Patel, President of Namadhari community Mr. M.R Naik, Auto driver's union president Mr. Venkatesh Naik, Political leader Mr. Inayatullah Shabandari, Indian Air Force officer Mr. Muhammad Arkham Muallim and many other were present.
