Mangaluru: Mangaluru Police Commissioner N Shashi Kumar said 133 police constables were promoted as head constables in Mangaluru Police Commissionerate jurisdiction.

The promotions were given within a short span of time (five years 10 days), and were awarded without much delay, he said.

Local youth

He appealed to youth from Dakshina Kannada district to join the police department.

Local youth, who enroll, help police in tackling many local issues, the commissioner said.
