Sirsi: The Sirsi Urban Police raided a gambling center near central Bus stand in Sirsi and arrested 14 persons on Sunday.

According to sources, the accused has been identified as Zuber Ahmed, Gowrish Kundapur, Mahabaleshwar Hegde, Mohammed Kareem Shaikh, Khalimullah Sab, Mohammed Rafiq Shaikh, Babu Shetty, Ganpati Hegde, Satish Mesth of Marathikoppa, Prabhakar Chantar, Satish Naik, Mehabubjan Sab, Alex Fernandez and Surya Prakash. They were busy in playing andar-bahar when the police team raided. It is said that police have also recovered Rs 1.66 lakh cash along with five mobiles besides playing cards and other gambling items during the raid.
