Gadag: District Election Officer and DC Manoj Jain has suspended 14 booth level officers (BLO) for dereliction of duty on the recommendation of the Election Commission.

The BLOs are charged with not working properly during Flash Voters’ Registration drive held by the commission on the last Sunday at various booths in Ron and Shiragatti taluks. Jain told: “According to EC’s order, the BLOs were supposed to add, edit or correct the voter lists during the drive

. But, they have not carried out any of their responsibilities. Hence the main motto of the campaign was failed in both the constituencies, so EC has ordered to suspend all 14 officials and as per EC’s order I have released the order of suspension.”
