Bhatkal: In a shocking incident, around 16 students of Kittur Rani Chennamma residential school in Purvarga of Bhatkal were admitted to hospital after they fell sick due to food poisoning. One student among them who received multiple infections has been shifted to Kundapur hospital.
On Tuesday night at around 11 pm, a student who is basically from Muttali in the town was brought to govt hospital with a serious health problem. It was then studied that three students with the same problem had been to the hospital in the evening earlier to this. However, the students were given treatment and sent back to home. Speaking to media, Dr. Satish Kumar said that 12 students of the same school had been to the hospital on Monday with similar health problems.
According to Doctor, the student who was identified as Urshini Narayan Naik (15) was brought to the hospital on Tuesday night at 11 pm with multiple health complaints and was advised to take Kundapur hospital for advanced treatment.
The reason behind is suspected that the students may have fallen sick by consumption outdated food products in the school. Also, it was said that around 20 students from the same school had fallen sick during March of this year with similar reason.
It might be noted that this school in Purvarga has a strength of 216 students.
