Karwar: In a tragic accident, two students were reportedly killed after the bike in which they were riding rammed into a parked truck on Majali NH-66 on the outskirts of the city on Wednesday evening.

The deceased are identified as Chetan (21) and Shivraj (20), residents of Bhadravati and Shirvad respectively. Chetan was an engineering student, whereas Shivraj was a student of B.Com degree in a govt college.

Sources informed that the accident happened when the speeding bike heading from Goa to Karwar crashed into a parked truck at the rear. Both sustained critical injuries over the body and succumbed to it after a while.

The bodies were then shifted to the district hospital for post-mortem.

A case has been registered in the Chittakul police station.
