Karwar: Examinations for the recruitment of first division assistant, held at 20 centres, across the City, on Sunday, saw a whopping 2,946 candidates absent from taking it.

Out of 4,202 candidates registered for General Knowledge paper in the morning, 2,727 were present, and 1,475 absent.

For General Kannada and General English papers, held in the afternoon, out of 4,202 candidates, 2,713 candidates appeared, while 1,471 kept away.
