Ankola: Ankola police have arrested three persons, including a minor, in the highway robbery case on Friday.

The accused are Umesh Bhimappa Bankapur (21), Rohit Parushuram Vaddar (21), and a minor whose identity has been withheld.

The trio, including the car driver of the victims, had hatched a plan to loot the two Hubballi-based businessmen two months ago, and executed it on Wednesday night.The two bike-borne miscreants assaulted the businessmen and made away with Rs six lakh cash near Mastikatte on National Highway-63 in Ankola on Wednesday night.

The victims Vinod Balachandra and Keval Chand, were returning to Hubballi after supplying electronic goods in Uttara Kannada district. The miscreants waylaid them and snatched the bag of cash.
