3 killed in mishap as Sirsi roads turn death trap; 7 deaths so far

Sirsi: Three persons were killed, after the car in which they were travelling, collided head on with a KSRTC bus near Hudelkoppa, in Sirsi taluk, on Sunday evening.

The deceased have been identified as Nirmala Kudapalli (53), resident of Shashtri Nagar, in Dharwad, who died on the spot, while two others Parameshwar Kudapalli (55) and Vidya Sadananda Pasangi, who were shifted to KIMS in Hubballi, died at the hospital.

The car driver Keshav Kakade is recovering at the hospital. The front portion of the car was completely compressed due to the intensity of the impact, which was further compounded after another multi utility vehicle, coming from behind, smashed into the car, after it met with the accident.

Passengers in bus and multi utility vehicle sustained minor injuries. Sirsi taluk in the last three days has witnessed seven deaths due to road accidents.
