Karwar: Uttara Kannada district administration has installed 32 closed circuit television (CCTV) surveillance cameras at various places in the district to check violation of model code of conduct in the run up to the assembly elections.

A practical demonstration of cameras was held at Deputy Commissioner’s office, in the City, on Wednesday.

Closed circuit television cameras have been installed at Majali, in Karwar, and Anmod, in Joida.

The video footage of all cameras will be recorded and monitered at control room set up in Deputy Commissioner’s office.

Bengaluru-based Mourya Infotech Company has bagged the contract.
