Mangaluru: A raid was conducted at the residence of Udupi excise deputy superintendent of police, Vinod Kumar by the officials of Anti-Corruption Bueau on 9th March, Friday.
The officials also raided his residence at Kuntikan here along with the excise office in the city, the residence of Vinod's father-in-law at Byndoor and the residence of his driver.
Accoding to sources, the raid was led by ACB superintendent of police, Shruti based upon a complaint lodged at Udupi stating that Vinod has possession of disproportionate assets.
During the raid, some documents were collected by the officials and a certain amount of cash was also discovered.
Following this, simultaneous raids were also conducted on:
- The office and residence of the assistant executive engineer Vijayakumar of Gangavathi.
- The residence of assistant director of agriculture, Kadur, at Chikkanayakanahalli.
- The residence of assistant executive engineer in the department of rural drinking water and sanitation, Appi Reddy in Kolar.
- The office and residence of special land acquisition officer of Krishna upper bank project Rajeshwari Jainapura.
As per information, raids were conducted on the excise department offices including Mangaluru, Dharwad, Belagavi and Gangavathi.
Officials are pooling information on the basis of documents they have put together during the raids.
