Kundapur: A pedestrian was injured seriously after being hit by a speeding Ambulance on Marvante NH-66 near Kundapur on Friday morning. Immediately after the accident, the ambulance fled the scene, which was then caught at neighboring region Nagoor.
The injured pedestrian has been identified as Naganna (45), a Chikkamagaluru based resident staying in Marvante in Kundapur taluk. The incident happened when Naganna was crossing the highway.
As the incident was alerted, a social activist of the region, Ibrahim MH rushed to the spot along with his ambulance with his teammates and shifted the injured to Udupi hospital after giving initial treatments at Kundapur. Naganna sustained severe head injuries and is said to be serious.
A case has been registered in Gangolli police station and investigations are on.
