According to the complaint, an anonymous caller, whose phone number was showed as +404, called the minister over a cellphone at 2.17 AM on Sunday. As the minister was asleep, this call was not received. At 2.20 AM, the landline in the minister's home got a call from Number 0040440000. Minister's wife, Shreeroopa, received the call. The caller, who spoke in Hindi, wanted to know the identity of the person who picked the call and cut the call on getting the response.
