Bhatkal: The Anganwadi workers employed by Women & Child Development Department, protested in front of assistant commissioner’s office, in Bhatkal, on 6th March Tuesday, demanding steps for payment of pending wages and increase in the salaries. They later submitted a memorandum in this regard.

The protesters stated that the government officers and staff have separate grants earmarked for the disbursement of salary and allowances. However, anganwadi workers neither have this facility nor have job security.
