Bhatkal: Anjuman Degree College and PG Center, celebrated its 50th Annual day gathering on 28th March, Wednesday here at Anjuman College campus, Bhatkal during which brilliant students were awarded.
Arfa Ahmed Kazia was awarded with best outgoing student among graduates, where as Ms. Tabassum Sharif as best outgoing student among PG students while Mohammed Sarfaraz, Mohammed Akhif and Isa Faras were declared as sports champions.
Mr and Ms punctual, toppers of each semester, best NCC candidate, best NSS candidate, students who scored 100 marks in any subjects were also awarded. Awards were also given to best sports players and various winners of literary competitions held in college.
Mumbai university professor in Urdu Dr. Kaleem Zia who was present as a chief guest said that college and school life is the best part life. He also inspired the students by giving a live example of how students must not try to be slaves after getting degree but strive to be the master as education has great power.
Advocate Syed Imran Lanka who was present as a guest of honour talked about his own experience about his college life and how we should take control our lives as we reach the end of college life. “Unless and Until we have a goal set up, we are nowhere”, he added.
University blues Ms. Sandra Pinto, Mohammed Raif, Zakkar Ahmed, Mohammed Maalik Damda and Naveed Khan were felicitated by the chief guests. Mohammed Amar was awarded as the best promising student.
Retiring staff Janab Mohammed Iqbal was felicitated for completing 34 years of service at the college and also Dr. Devidas Prabhu for completion of his Ph.d.
Special Mementos were given by the B.com final year student as a token of their appreciation to the best outgoing student along with Mohammed Yaseen and Buddu Mohammed Aftab for their excellent performance in academics.
Anjuman Degree College Prof. M K Shaikh presented the Annual report and Anjuman Vice President 2 Janab Syed Abdul Rahman Batin Saheb presided over the function.
The program commenced with recitation of the Holy Quran by student Mohammed Ismail Shabandari while Abdullah Jubapu translated the verses, followed by the welcome speech by college function chairman Dr. Devidas S Prabhu.
College students Buddu Mohammed Aftab and Zakkar Ahmed introduced the guests, while Mohammed Shamoon recited a naath and finally Mohammed Ibrahim proposed the vote of thanks.
General Secretary AHM Siddique Ismail, College Board secretary Javid Hussain Armar, and Vice Principal of Anjuman Degree College Prof. Saheel Ahmed Muzawar were also present on the dais.
