Kumta: In a shocking incident that reported in the morning hours of 27th February, Tuesday, two boys who arrived in a car tried to kidnap a college girl in a filmy style near Hegde cross in the town.

It is reported that a boy identified as Manjunath Naik, a resident of Amdalli in Karwar had come in a white coloured car along with his friend and tried to kidnap the girl, which as a result, the girl aged 19, screamed loudly on the road. It shall be noted that the girl is also a resident of Amdalli in Karwar.

The boy threatened her that he had acid with him and might attack her using it. But he had distilled water with them, which is reported that he splashed it over her and fled the scene. Observed this by the locals, immediately rushed near the girl for her help and informed the entire incident to the police.

During an interrogation with the girl, when police asked about the reason for her kidnap attempt, she said that the boy forcefully wanted her to love him. But when the proposal got rejected, the boy acted this entire scene.

A case has been registered in Kumta police station in this regard and the search for the accused is being carried.
