Bantawal: The Bantawal police during a raid, have arrested one person who was allegedly involved in running an illegal slaughterhouse in Maripalla region in the taluk and have seized 72 kg of meat along with the tools which were used in the slaughterhouse.

The accused has been identified as Basheer, aged 45.

Sources said the raid had been conducted following a tip-off regarding selling the beef illegally.

A case has been registered in Bantawal police station and investigations are on.
