Bantwal: An incident was reported here near Nirkaje, where a passenger fell out of a moving bus resulting in his death on 6th March, Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Umesh (18yrs), a resident of Golikatte in the taluk.
According to sources, Umesh was on his way home in a bus after attending a wedding. He was standing at the foot board of the bus and fell out on the road after he lost control at a turning at Nirkaje.
He was rushed to a private hospital in Puttur as he had sustained grievous injuries to his head. He was then transferred to a hospital in Mangaluru. However, he failed to respond to the given treatment and succumbed to his injuries.
A case of negligent driving has been registered against the bus driver at Vittal police station.
