Services are being provided at the doorsteps of the people. People should maintain proper diet and their health. Better health of people would always be an indication for the progress of the country, he said.
Specialist doctors
He said, free dialysis, emergency medical care, sufficient storage of drugs and specialist doctors to perform surgeries in the taluk hospital would be ensured soon.
A sum of Rs 8 crore has been sanctioned for the new polytechnic in Haliyal.
Cheques handed over
Dandeli West Coast Paper Mills Executive Director Rajendra Jain, District Health Officer G N Ashok Kumar, and Taluk Health Officer Ramesh Kadam were present.
The minister handed over cheques worth Rs 54 lakh to various temples under Endowment Department for developmental works.
