Belthangady: Due to the public protests and pressure after the merciless assault on a carpenter accused of stealing woods from the forest, the Ujjire Deputy Range Forest Officer, Keerthan Shetty has been transferred to Puttur.

The people of the area had constantly pressurized the local MLA Bangaira that the RFO Keerthan Shetty should be suspended immediately, who had attacked the carpenter mercilessly.
