Sirsi: Members of Banavasi Block Congress unit protested in front of Congress district party office in town, on Wednesday, demanding ministerial berth for Yallapur constituency MLA Shivram Hebbar.

The protesters raised slogans in favour of MLA Hebbar and said he had initiated lot of developmental works during his last tenure.

Banavasi Block Congress President Dyamanna Dodmani said Congress has seen its end in Uttar Kannada district losing four seats and remained in power in only two constituencies. In order to strengthen party roots in the district, two ministerial berths should be given to Congress MLAs.

A memorandum to KPCC President G Parameshwara was submitted through KPCC Secretary C F Naik.
