Bhatkal: At the 54th Annual Gathering held at Anjuman Girls’ High School, Basti Road, Bhatkal, the school announced its top honours for the academic year. Bright student Amina Rimsa D/o Irshad Ahmed Shabandri was selected for the prestigious Batool-e-Anjuman Gold Medal, while Ariha Kashimji D/o Mohammed Yunus Kashimji was declared the Runner-up. Umme Sulaim D/o Ibrahim Betkeri was conferred the Eminent Student Award. All three awardees will be honoured on December 14 during the Anjuman Day celebrations at Anjumanabad.
General Secretary of Anjuman Hami-e-Muslimeen, Ishaq Shabandri, stated that the Batool-e-Anjuman is one of the most distinguished honours presented annually to the most outstanding student of the school. Each year, around 150 students are evaluated, and only three—First, Second and Third—are selected. He clarified that the selection is not based solely on academic performance; instead, a student’s overall abilities are assessed, including literary participation and achievements, sports performance, Islamic knowledge and historical awareness, discipline in Qur’an learning and religious practices, general knowledge, self-confidence, public speaking skills, and involvement in co-curricular activities. The final decision is made by a committee comprising teaching staff, members of the Anjuman Ladies Advisory Committee, and office-bearers of the institution.

The event was graced by Dr. Waseema Ayyub Sidibappa, Health Officer, Ministry of Health, Muscat – Oman, who attended as the chief guest. Mrs. Noorjahan Imran Mohtisham, teacher at Prestige International School, Mangaluru, and a former Batool-e-Anjuman awardee, was present as the guest of honour. Both guests addressed the audience and offered valuable guidance on academic excellence, moral values and personal growth.
The programme began with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an by Maryam Siddibappa, followed by a Na’at recitation by Munazira Taiba. Mrs. Nusrat Jahan Gangoli introduced the guests and delivered the welcome address, while Headmistress Ms. Asiya A.G. presented the annual school report. The event was presided over by Mrs. Seema Abubaker Kashimji, Chairperson of the Anjuman Ladies Advisory Council.
Amina Rimsa, the recipient of the Batool-e-Anjuman honour, secured nine prizes this year in various competitions, including English essay writing, English, Hindi and Urdu elocution, chess, social activities, Urdu essay writing, dodgeball and cultural leadership. She also excelled in inter-school competitions and performed remarkably well at major platforms such as the Pratibha Karanji events. Following the announcement of her name, fellow students congratulated her by adorning her with floral garlands.
