Bhatkal: The Hubli Electricity Supply Company Limited (HESCOM) is urging residents of Bhatkal to take advantage of the Prime Minister Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme, a government initiative aimed at promoting solar energy and reducing electricity bills.
The scheme offers a dual benefit: homeowners can generate electricity for their own use, reducing reliance on the grid, and potentially earn revenue by selling excess solar power back to the Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (BESCOM).
Launched in January 2024, the PM Surya Ghar scheme seeks to make solar energy accessible to all. A key feature of the scheme is the provision of subsidies for domestic consumers who install rooftop solar panels.
