Amjad SM who had filed nomination on JD(S) ticket, resigns from Tanzeem

Bhatkal: SM Amjad, a JD(s) leader who had earlier filed nomination as JD(s) candidate for the Bhatkal-Honnavar constituency for upcoming May 12 Karnataka assembly polls and later withdrew it, has resigned from executive membership of Majlise Islah Wa Tanzeem, Bhatkal.

Speaking to presspersons here on Saturday, he said, from many years he has been serving the community by being an executive member of Bhatkal's leading socio-political organization Majlise Islah Wa Tanzeem. He had filed nomination as JDS candidate assuring faith in Tanzeem that it would extend its support for him in the upcoming assembly elections. "I had to withdraw the nomination due to the pressure of Tanzeem leaders. I have freed myself from Tanzeem now, and henceforth I will work for the party", he added.

S M Amjad said that now he has resigned from Majlise e Islah Wa Tanzeem and has got all the responsibilities done. He will now work in support of the JD(s) party. After discussion with the party leaders, further step would be taken in this regard, he mentioned.
