Bhatkal: Parts of Coastal Karnataka including Bhatkal, Kumta, Manki, Murdeshwar, Samsi, Saralgi, Gersoppa, Byndoor, Kundapur, Udupi and Mangaluru celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr with religious gaiety and fervour on Friday, 15th June 2018. Due to the onset of monsoons, the congregational Eid prayers were offered at the Juma Masjids instead of Eidgah ground.
In Bhatkal, thousands of people flocked to join the Eid-ul-Fitr congregation at various Juma Masjids of the town. Maulana Abdul Aleem Khateeb Nadwi in Jamia Masjid and Chief Qazi of Khalifa Jamat Ul Muslimeen Maulana Khwaja Mohiddin Akrami Nadvi in Khalifa Jamia Masjid delivered a powerful sermons and led the Eid prayers.
Maulana Ansar Khateeb Madani led Eid prayers at Tanzeem Jamia Masjid. Maulana Zakariya Barmawar Nadvi led the Eid prayers at Madeena Jumma Masjid, Maulana Niamatullah Askeri Nadvi led the prayers at Makhdoomia Jumma Masjid, whereas Maulana Ameen Ruknuddin Nadvi led the prayers at the Noor Masjid. The prayers at Masjid Bilal Mughlihonda was led by Maulana Munawwar Peshmam. Maulana Ismail Dangi Nadvi led the prayer at Jamia Masjid Syedina Ibrahim at Jamia Abad, whereas Maulana Ishaque Dangi Nadvi led the prayer at Jamia Masjid Tengingundi, Bhatkal.
In view of Eid celebrations, social organisation Majlis-e-Islah-wa-Tanzeem distributed packets of fruits and bread to the patients admitted at the Bhatkal government hospital. General secretary Muhiddin Altaf Kharuri and various other leaders were present.
In some parts of the town including Makhdoom colony, small procession was also led towards Masjids.
Eid Ul Fitr in Kumta:
In Kumta, Eid prayers in Jamia Masjid and Madina Masjid began at 9:00 AM, while in Farooqui Jamia Masjid and Vanalli Jamia Masjid, it began at 9:15 AM and 8:30 AM respectively.
Maulana Minnatullah Qasmi delivered sermon and led Eid Ul Fitr prayers in Kumta Jamia Masjid, while Maulana Bilal Abusaleh Nadvi led prayers in Farooqui Jamia Masjid. Eid Ul Fitr prayers in Vanalli Jamia Masjid was led by Maulana Muhammad Zakariya Nadvi.
After prayers, people exchanged the Eid wishes and greeted each other.
