Preparations for polling in full swing, busy day at mustering centre in Bhatkal

Bhatkal: Preparations are in full swing ahead of the assembly election in Bhatkal. Polling officials and personnel deputed on poll duty reported at the mustering center at Guru Sudhindra college, Sagar Road here.

This time, voter verifiable paper audit trail (VVPAT) units are being used along with electronic voting machines (EVMs). 

There are 1438 polling stations in six assembly constituencies in Uttara Kannada district out of which 248 are in Bhatkal - Honnavar assembly constituency. Totally 1545 employees were deployed to conduct full and fair election in Bhatkal.

There are 214694 voters in Bhatkal - Honnavar assembly constituency out of which 109310 are men and 105383 are women.

Polling will be held on May 12 from 7 am to 6 pm in all the 248 polling stations of the constituency while counting of votes will be held on May 15.
