Bhatkal: A PUC student allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself to the roof of his house in Hadvalli village under Bhatkal rural police station limit on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as Ranjith Ramesh Poojary, a resident of Marukeri in Hadvalli village.

According to sources, Ranjith was a commerce student studying in First PUC at the New English PU College at Sagar Road, Bhatkal. He returned home from college on Thursday and at around 3:45pm, his family members found out that Ranjith had ended his life by hanging.

A case has been registered in Bhatkal rural police station and PSI B Manjappa is investigating the case.
