Bhatkal: Tarbiat Education Society, one of Bhatkal's oldest educational institutions, has elected its new office-bearers for the 2026–2030 term at a meeting of its governing body.
The governing council unanimously elected Mohammed Iqbal Ekkeri as President of the society for the new four-year term.
At a subsequent meeting held on August 1 under the chairmanship of the newly elected President, the remaining office-bearers were also unanimously elected by consensus. Ziaur Rahman Ruknuddin Nadvi was elected Vice President, Syed Qutub Barmavar Nadvi Secretary of the School and College Board, Dr. Owais Khwaja Ruknuddin Finance Secretary, and Syed Lanka Zia-ul-Haq Treasurer.
The society also constituted its Education Board comprising Nazir Ahmed Qazi, Maulana Syed Ahmed Salik Barmavar Nadvi, Abdul Tawwab Akrami, Syed Zubair (SM Market), Syed Rayyan Barmavar, Maulana Zakir-ul-Haq Umri, Abdul Muneem Ruknuddin, Naveed Ekkeri, Syed Maqbool SM, and Yunus Ruknuddin.
Tarbiat Education Society manages New Shams School, Shams PU College, and Al Kausar Girls College, which have been serving the educational needs of Bhatkal and neighbouring areas for nearly 55 years. In addition to providing quality academic education, the society places special emphasis on moral values, character building, and sports.
The meeting also acknowledged the services of outgoing President Ismail Mohtisham, former School Board Chairman Nazir Ahmed Qazi, and other office-bearers for their contributions during the previous two terms, appreciating their efforts in strengthening the institution's educational mission.
