Bhatkal: BJP government in the State has money to loot. However, it does not sanction funds for the development works, criticised MLA R V Deshpande. 

He was speaking during his visit to Bhatkal on Thursday for campaigning in favour of Congress candidate Bhimanna Naik who has contested in Council polls.

He said, the State government has not yet released compensation to farmers who suffered crop loss due to rains. What people can expect from such a government? he questioned. 

He said, BJP-led Union and State governments have no faith in the panchayat system. BJP has not contributed for strengthening the panchayat system. When Congress-led government was in power in the Centre and the State, various schemes were implemented for strengthening the panchayat system, he claimed. 

He appealed to the Gram Panchayat members to support Congress candidate Bhimanna Naik in Council polls for the growth of the panchayat system.
