Bhatkal: A founder member and current vice-president of Tarbiyat Education Society and a person who kept himself associated with many social organizations, Mr. Syed Ashraf Barmawar (72) breathed his last due to cardiac arrest on Saturday morning at his residence "Noor Bagh" in Jali road, Bhatkal.
He has been survived by wife, two daughters and three sons.
Late Syed Ashraf Barmawar had kept himself engaged with many social and educational organizations like Welfare hospital, Islamic welfare society, Jamat e Islami Hind, Al-Kausar girls' college, Shams English medium high school, Idara Adab-e-Islami Hind, Welfare party of India, and Association for Protection of Civil Rights (APCR).
Other than these, Ashraf was also among popular poets of the town who has written hundreds of poems in Urdu and Nawayathi language.
On his sad demise, president of Majlise Islah Wa Tanzeem, Bhatkal Advocate Muzammil Qazia, General Secretary Muhiddin Altaf Kharuri, Muslim community leader Dr. S M Syed Khaleel, Inayatullah Shabandari amongst many others expressed their deep condolence.
