Karnataka SSLC exams to begin from 23rd March; 2045 students from Bhatkal to appear

Bhatkal: "A total of 2045 students from Bhatkal taluk will appear for the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examinations for the academic year 2017-18 that will be held from 23rd March to 6th April", said Bhatkal Block Education Officer M.R Munji.

Addressing the presspersons here on Monday, he said, among 2045 students, 987 are boys and 1088 are girls. There are 9 examination centers in the taluk which include Islamia Anglo Urdu high school Bhatkal, Anjuman girls' high school Bhatkal, New English school Bhatkal, Govt high school Sonarkeri Bhatkal, while from the rural area the centers are Janata Vidyalaya Shirali, Janata Vidyalaya Murdeshwar, National high school Murdeshwar, Beena Vaidya high school Belur and Govt high school Belekere. All basic amenities along with CCTV cameras are installed in the centers to observe the smooth functioning of the exams.

A total of 153 supervisors are appointed, among which 9 are chief superintendents, 9 are appointed as question paper guards, 9 local vigilance and 9 as taluka level surveyors.

Students appearing for the exams have been trained well in their respective schools by providing them with special classes. By arranging headmasters meets, it was stressed to conduct various programs to achieve excellent results in the taluk. He informed that the students are expected to reach their examination centers half an hour earlier. Carrying cellphones, calculators and other related equipment in the exam hall are strictly prohibited. It is mandatory to carry Hall ticket for the exam, he said.
