Sirsi: A girl student was killed on the spot following a gruesome road accident that happened in between KSRTC bus and a bike in the morning of July 25, Wednesday, here at Chipagi region in the taluk.

The deceased is identified as Apurva, aged 15, a student of Marikamba school in Sirsi.

Reports from Sirsi informed that the accident took place when Apurva along with her father Krishnamurthy was on the way to her school. Both the vehicles had a head-on collision, causing spot death of Apurva. Krishnamurthy sustained severe injuries and was shifted to Hubballi KIMS hospital.

The bus was heading towards Hubli from Kumta, while the bike was in opposite direction. 

The impact of the collision was such that the body of deceased Apurva was observed split into parts.

A case has been registered in Sirsi police station.
