Bhatkal: In a road accident that happened during the early hours of Sunday, 14th January, on Bangarmakki cross NH-66 near Murdeshwar, the bike rider was reportedly killed on the spot, while the pillion sustained severe injuries. The accident happened when their bike got skid on the highway.

Manoj Madhav Naik, aged 21, is the deceased, while Mahesh Pandu Naik, aged 22, is the injured. Manoj and Mahesh are said to be the residents of Tiranmakki church cross and Murdeshwar Janata colony respectively.

The accident happened when they were returning from Arsikere to their hometown after finishing their duty. Their bike skidded while taking a turn near Bangarmakki cross around 2 km from their residence.

As the information was alerted, Murdeshwar police personnel rushed to the spot and conducted necessary investigations. The body was then taken to govt hospital for post-mortem. The injured has been shifted to Kundapur after giving initial treatments at Bhatkal govt hospital.

A case has been registered in the Murdeshwar police station.
