Karwar: A 21-Year-Old man was killed in a hit-and-run which took place on the Baithkol NH-66 in Karwar on Friday night.

The deceased has been identified as Sandesh Gunaga, a resident of Aversa near Ankola.

According to sources, the accident took place when the victim was on the way to his home from Karwar after finishing his duty on his bike as usual.

On the highway, a vehicle knocked him down and fled from the spot without helping out. Sandesh fell off his bike and suffered head injuries.

The Karwar police have registered a case against an unidentified vehicle owner and investigations are on to trace him/her.
