Karwar (DHNS): JD(S) State unit General Secretary Anand Gowda said both Congress and BJP have failed to maintain peace and harmony among people of district. Youths are being misused in untoward activities in the name of Sanga Parivar, and hence, educated youths are being sent to jail, he added.

Briefing reporters, he said, JD(S) would compete from all six constituencies in the district. The party will be strengthened at booth level and campaigns held, he said, asserting JD(S) State President H D Kumaraswamy will be next chief minister.

Secretary G N Gowda said, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had visited the district during the last period of his administration tenure and had flagged off various developmental works. This was election tactic, he said adding if chief minister had visited the district after taking charge as chief minister, one would have seen several developments.
