Kumta: BJP will picket Chief Minister Siddaramaiah during his visit to Kumta, on December 6, opposing Social Welfare Department’s rejection of farmers applications for providing title deeds for forest land, BJP Leader Suraj Naik Sony said.
Despite proper records submitted by dwellers seeking title deeds for forest land, where they have taking up agriculture activities since many years, social welfare department has rejected the applications, he said.
Speaking after submitting a memorandum to Tahsildar Megharaj Naik, on Monday, he said, social welfare department officials have rejected the petition filed by 30 people including residents belongs to Scheduled Caste (SC) in Kujalli village.
Though Revenue Minister Kagodu Thimmappa has advised the department not to consider three generation records of forest dwellers while giving title deeds acknowledgment, their applications have been rejected time and again, he charged.
