Kumta: On the charges of not paying a tax, Honnavar RTO has seized a four-wheeled vehicle used for BJP's 'Jana Suraksha Yatra' in Kumta. Enraged over this, the BJP workers staged a protest and surrounded the Kumta police station.
It is said that a vehicle highlighting images was brought from Mangaluru for Suraksha Yatra. Though the tax on the vehicle was not paid, the Kumta police seized it upon receiving the instruction from Honnavar RTO office. As the information of seizing a vehicle fell on the ears of BJP workers, they gathered near the police station and shouted slogans against the Congress-led state government, RTO office, and the police department.
Speaking on the occasion, BJP leader Pramod Hegde said, the state government is trying hard to make this Yatra go unsuccessful. He made the state government, RTO office, and police department responsible if at all their incarnation turns into the fire. Ex. MLA Dinakar Shetty said that no power can stop Jana Suraksha Yatra and asked to release a seized vehicle immediately. He also threatened that a huge protest will be staged if at all the need is not fulfilled.
Playing an ugly politics is not a good sign and Congress will soon be learning a lesson for all their mischiefs, said Ex MLA Sunil Hegde.
