Mangaluru: A 16-Yr-old boy drowned in a quarry pit while taking bath at Gundapu Padavu in Malavoor on Sunday.

According to sources, the deceased is Sanjay Kumar, son of Bajpe Primary Health Centre Health Assistant Savithri and Ellappa couple.

Sanjay, along with his friend Ranjith, had been to the quarry pit to take bath. He accidentally slipped and fell into the pit.

Ranjith alerted the locals, who in turn, took out Sanjay from water and rushed him to hospital.

However, Sanjay breathed his last while being taken to a hospital.
