Karwar: A rider was killed on the spot after a bike in which he was moving had a head-on collision with KSRTC bus near Gilalagundi region in Siddapur taluk in Uttara Kannada district on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Hemanth Annappa Kurubar, a resident of Siddapur.

Sources informed that the incident happened when the bus was on the way to Siddapur from Sirsi, while the bike was in the opposite direction. Both went on colliding head-on, causing instant death of the bike rider.

A case has been registered in Siddapur police station.
