Case filed against right-wing activist for hate speech

Mangaluru: Surathkal police have filed a case against Hindutva activist Chaitra Kundapura for making provocative speech during a rally against love jihad and religious conversion held in the town, Mangaluru Commissioner of Police N Shashi Kumar said.

The rally was organised by Bajrang Dal and Durgavahini recently.

After the video of Chaitra's speech had gone viral, individuals, political parties and members of different organisations had submitted complaints urging police to initiate action against her. In the video, the speaker is heard issuing threat to a religious community and blaming it for love jihad. The police after taking legal opinion, have filed a case against Chaitra.
