CISF Cyclothon-2025 reaches Karnataka-Goa border; Grand welcome in Uttara Kannada

Karwar: As part of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) Foundation Day celebrations, the Cyclothon-2025 (Cycle Rally), which is traveling across India's coastal regions, reached the Majali Checkpost on the Karnataka-Goa border on Monday evening. The rally was given a grand reception by the district administration and police department.

The cyclists were welcomed with a shower of flower petals and a vibrant procession featuring the Suggi Kunita dance, a traditional folk performance by the Halakki tribal community. Adding to the festive spirit, CISF personnel joined the folk artists in dancing, expressing their joy and enthusiasm.

After the grand reception, the Cyclothon team continued its rally, moving from Majali Beach to Devbagh Beach, eventually reaching the Police Welfare Hall.

Several senior officials, including Uttara Kannada Additional Superintendent of Police Krishnamurthy, Deputy DySP Girish, CISF Senior Commandant Ajay Kumar Jha, Deputy Commandant S.P. Pathak, Assistant Commandant Durgesh, and Manoj Kumar, were present on the occasion.

The Cyclothon event saw the participation of 110 cyclists, including CISF women personnel and senior officers. On March 25 at 7 AM, the District Police Parade Ground will host the flag-hoisting ceremony, followed by cultural performances such as Yakshagana and Suggi Nritya. The CISF will also showcase fire safety demonstrations, canine squad drills, special task force operations, and weapons handling demonstrations.

The event highlights the CISF’s commitment to security and public engagement while promoting fitness and awareness along India's coastal belt.
