Bhatkal: The Centre of Indian Trade Union (CITU) Bhatkal taluka unit held a protest rally in the town demanding the regularization of properties on encroached forest land and submitted a memorandum to the Assistant Commissioner.
Speaking on the occasion, CITU state president Byaradi said that the government has failed to fulfill the promise to provide certificates for the people living on non registered forest land. The political parties which came asking for votes in the last assembly elections have forgotten to pay attention for the demands they promised. He urged the authorities to ensure immediate justice for the people owning atikaram forest land atleast within 4-5 months from now before assembly elections. He also demanded that authorities complete the GPS work and take into consideration the limits under the urban area. He warned that a huge protest will be organised if all the demands aren't met before the budget session in February 2018.
Present on the occasion were CITU Bhatkal taluka unit president Shridar Shetty, Shridar Naik, Subhash Kopikar, Sulaiman Jaali, Irshad Mohiddin, Naveen Jain and many others.
