Sirsi: For a change, Congress Party here has distanced rebel factor. itself from the rebel factor.

Rebellion had surfaced in the party in the previous election, but this time, it appears that all is well in Congress.

As predicted, the high command has decided to allot ticket to sitting MLAs. In Haliyal, R V Deshpande was given the ticket, Shivaram hebbar in Yallapur, Satish Sail in Karwar, Sharadha Shetty in Kumta and Mankal Vaidya in Bhatkal. In Sirsi which had grabbed the attention, the high command has decided to field Bheemanna Naik.

Nivedit Alva, son of Margaret Alva was key contender but decided to withdraw at the last minute. It is said if Bheemanna Naik is denied ticket, rebel factor would surface, the party decided to field Naik.

Minister R V Deshpande had toured the district and had learnt the pulse of people before submitting final list of ticket aspirants.
